MUMBAI SIGHTSEEING:-
1.
Gateway of India:- In the days when most visitors came to India by ship and
when Mumbai was India's principal port, this was indeed the 'gateway' to India.
Today it's merely Mumbai's principal landmark. The gateway was conceived following
the visit of King George V in 1911 and officially opened in 1924.
2. Prince of Wales Museum:- Beside the Wellingdon Circle, close to the
Colaba hotel enclave, the Prince of Wales Museum was built to commemorate Kind
George V's first visit to India in 1905 while he was still Prince of Wales.
The part of this interesting museum was opened in 1923. It was designed in the
Indo-Saracenic style and has sections for art and paintings, archaeology and
natural history.
3. Jahangir Art Gallery:- Within the compound of the museum stands Mumbai's
principal art gallery. There are often special exhibitions of modern Indian
art here. The gallery also has public phones, public toilets, good snack bar.
4. University and High court:- Along KB Patel Marg, overlooking Cross
Maidan, there are several imposing public buildings erected during Mumbai's
period of great growth under the British. The university is in Gothic style
of 14 to 15th century and is dominated by 80 metre Rajabai Tower. This impressive
clock tower rises above the university library.
15th DAY FULL DAY FREE FOR MUMBAI SIGHTSEEING

free for Mumbai sightseeing, visit Film Studio. IN THE LATE EVENING TRANSFER
TO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO CATCH FLIGHT FOR HOME...............TOUR ENDS WITH

5. Marine Drive:-Now officially renamed Netaji Subhash Road, Marine Drive
is built on land reclaimed in 1920. It runs along the shoreline of Back Bay,
starting at Nariman point and sweeping around by Chowpatty Beach and up to Malabar
Hill. The road is backed with high residential buildings and this is one of
Mumbai's most popular promenades.
6. Taraporewala Aquarium:- Constructed in 1951, the aquarium on Marine
Drive has both freshwater and saltwater fish. Also along marine drive, before
the aquarium, is a series of cricket pitches where in summer there always seems
to be games underway.
7. Chowpatty Beach:- Mumbai's famous beach attracts few bathers and even
fewer sunbathers neither activity has much of a following in India, and in any
case the water is none too healthy. Chowpatty has plenty of other activities
though. It's one of those typical Indian slices of life where anything and everything
can happen, and does. Sand castle sculptors make elaborate figures in the sand,
contortionists go family groups stroll around. In between there are kisoks selling
Mumbai's popular snack, bhelpuri, and Kulfi ice cream.
